On a hunt for immortality, Ashalia searches through Set's, an old Egyptian god, tomb in hope to find his treasure. While searching for the treasure, Set lets loose his undead army to protect it. Trials of Set follows Ashalia and her fight for her life in fast paced combat while solving the mysteries and puzzles of the old Egyptian tomb in order to face the god of chaos himself and gain his treasure.

Game/Level Design Responsibilities 

  • Helped with level layout and environmental design.
  • Planned player encounters and learning experiences to set up boss battles further down the path.
  • Paced the game to meet a time requirement of a 20 minute critical path. 
  • Introduced mechanics and puzzles in a linear fashion so the player could master mechanics during the boss fight
  • Balanced player reward and punishment to help the player have a better feeling of achievement through out the experience. 
  • Helped design core mechanics for the player to interact with a fast paced combat system in which the game is focused on

Programming Responsibilities

  • Implemented the main player controller and interactions with the environment. 
  • Made a smooth controller to allow the player to have an easy experience learning the controls and the rules of the game world.
  • Added a z targeting system in order to allow the player a better time while fighting and making the combat a more interactive experience.
  • Designed HUD and UI elements to allow the narrative and game play designers a way of conveying information and story to the player.
  • Set up systems so that the player could have a feel of adventure and action through camera movements and HUD elements and to convey critical information during combat situations.
